Buck

Here I was, sitting at home watching a hip hop routine on "So You Think You Can Dance".  After Nigel's dry commentary and Mary's HOT TAMALE TRAIN....WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Lil C, a hip-hop choreographer and seemingly all around bad ass, defined the word BUCK for those of us who are out of the loop.  Apparently BUCK is what the two dancers were striving for - and he matter of factly said that they'd achieved it.  They had been using this word throughout the commentary and intro - so I was expecting something that would relate to hard hitting, pulse pounding, down and dirty hip hop- but in fact, the definition is very eloquent for a word that can only be described as slang.

I heard Mary Murphy try that word out - on national TV and it confirmed my own suspicions that if I tried to incorporate that word into my vocabulary and use it at least once a day, I'd sound like a total jack ass.
