Sheila and I have been working with a trainer once a week...and each week we either work with him on core, legs or arms. Last Tuesday it was legs night. Let me just tell you that Saturday was the first day that I was walking properly, without the appearance of something stuck somewhere that it shouldn't be, if you know what I'm sayin'.
For Tuesday's session, he had us do a series of squats - first with the bar, two legs - normal. For the second set, we had to hold 10lb weights and sit down and then stand up and hop. I'm thinking, ok this hurts, but that's what I'm paying this giant man to do to me, right? Well...next came two different sets of one legged squats. We alternated with the bar and then we used the bench to do the same kind of sit-downs, but with on one leg and hopping after we stood. Holy crap doesn't do this routine ANY justice whatsoever. The next morning, I woke up in pain - mostly when I tried to walk or sit.
So, in order to make up for the evil that I had to experience, I tried to think of a better name for what I can only describe as OUCH. Something that makes it sound like fun. Something that makes it sound like an activity that you'd like to do every single day, without any thought to the "morning after" pain. So laying in bed one night, trying to relay the discomfort that I was in, I came up with one legged, hippity hop, squat do-dah's. I felt that the name was the most accurate representation of what we had to do. When you say it with conviction and out loud, its kind of fun.

Plyometrics = sexy ass. This is part of the reason I am a roller girl. That and the afterparties.
