I've stopped hyperventilating

After work last night, Nick and I received some great news that Chino's ligament was only partially torn, which means that he won't need major surgery to repair it.  The vet said that we caught it in time, before he did major damage.  The Dr. went over the x-rays of Chino's hips and knees and pointed out the minor differences on each side.  These minor differences were what told him that the injury was minor.  We were so grateful and thankful that surgery isn't the next step because it would be very difficult for all of us, especially Chino.  He's been given the green light to resume ALMOST normal activities.  He has to be on a leash outside for 4 weeks and we need to really watch the jumping, but we can walk him again every day and stop holding our breaths when he walks up and down the stairs or gallops across the floor.  Unfortunately for his girlfriends - one down the street and two across the street - he has to lay off the play dates for awhile and hang with his people.

As part of his recovery, he has to take a bunch of different medicines:  anti-inflammatory, antibiotics (for his bruised tooth--whole separate issue here), beef flavored joint supplements for the rest of his life and  good old fashioned pain pills.  Now our little guy is smarter than he lets on - so he's figured out that since the pills come wrapped in turkey, not bologna, TURKEY, that his joint supplements should be served in the same manner.  The joint supplements smell like beef bouillon and have the consistency of treats, so I really think he's getting greedy, especially since I caught him snacking on rabbit poop this morning in the backyard.
