Thinking good thoughts for my furbaby.

Last week, Nick and I  noticed that Chino was limping a little bit and walking kind of funny.  We first saw it when he sat down in front of us and rather than go straight down - he sort of flopped to the side.  To make sure that it wasn't a fluke, we made him do it a couple of more times.  Sure enough, he was favoring one of his back legs.  I immediately called the vet and we were there the next afternoon to find out what was going on.

The vet gave him a through exam - checking his paws for any thorns or cuts - especially since he had been at the "farm" over the weekend, playing with his crazy sisters.  Unfortunately, he didn't find anything.  Next, he checked his left leg - applying pressure and moving it around.  Chino was a tad annoyed, but not in pain.  Finally, he checked his right leg.  Unfortunately, Chino showed signs of discomfort, but never yelping or trying to bite the person that was doing it to him.  Thankfully, they followed this exam with a shot - and Chino was literally flying high for the rest of the evening.

Today, I dropped him off for x-rays to determine the exact problem so that we could determine the best treatment for him.  We're hoping desperately that its something that we can manage with some TLC and medicine.  The surgery is very invasive and expensive and we'd like to avoid having to put him through it if we can help it.  The vet seems to favor medical management if possible, but we also want to make sure that we're making the right decision, since he's only two and has many years of crazy playing left in him.
